Course 1 - Brevard County 7th Grade ELA Resource Course

This short course provides 7th grade Language Arts teachers in Brevard County District with supplemental resources, which can be used individually or as a unit to strengthen the student’s understanding of difficult to master topics. These units are modular and can be used with an entire class struggling with a particular topic or with resource students to engage and help them master literary concepts. SilkWeb provided the instructional design experts and curriculum design and development services for this project. The course was initially published by SilkWeb on both MoodleRooms and Blackboard Learn platforms.

Course 2 - Common Core Readiness with Your LMS

This is one of a handful of online CEU courses made for K-12 teachers. SilkWeb worked directly with the host provided Blackboard Learn platform. SilkWeb provided the subject matter expertise, content authoring, instructional design, and course development services for this project. The purpose of this course was to delve into the practical aspects of course design and cover the various tools that are available in learning management systems. The goal for teachers at the completion of this course was to be able to create their own virtual classroom, aligned with the CCS, differentiated for various learners, and easily managed. Special attention was given to the student population that will be using an LMS platform. The activities in this course were designed with the age, skill level, and technical skills of the K12 student population in mind. The course was initially published by SilkWeb on both MoodleRooms and Blackboard Learn platforms.

Course 3 - English Composition I

English Composition I was written in collaboration with faculty from Delaware State University and published using the Blackboard Learn platform hosted by the University. SilkWeb built the course directly into DSU's Blackboard Learn platform. Confident in SilkWeb's skills and security, DSU provided us with Administrator level access to the entire platform. SilkWeb to date has built over 80 courses from the ground up with DSU faculty. In this particular example, ENG 101’s primary goal is to help students master the skill-sets that are fundamental to achieving a successful academic career at Delaware State University (DSU) and vital to being prepared to ask questions about the world and their place in it. Moreover, the skill-sets acquired in this course are likely to contribute to development into well-rounded individuals, capable of moving in different circles. A secondary but equally important goal is to equip students to feel comfortable in the company of educated people of varied backgrounds and specializations as they prepare for their future professional career. This online version of the course is designed to be completed with 150 hours of activities and assignments.
